From Amaharashi Coast, you can see the 3,000-meter-high Tateyama mountain range across Toyama Bay. On winter mornings with significant temperature fluctuations, the "kearashi" (sea fog) that spreads across the sea surface creates a fantastical sight.
World Heritage Site: Gokayama Gassho-zukuri Village

Currently, 23 thatched-roof houses known as "gassho-zukuri" still exist and are inhabited by people. Designated a World Heritage Site in 1995, it is one of Toyama's most representative landmarks.

Himi yellowtail, the king of winter yellowtail in Toyama Bay, is one of the nation's leading yellowtail fishing grounds. Yellowtail shabu-shabu, yellowtail and daikon radish stew, and salt-grilled yellowtail can be enjoyed from early December to late February.
