As a member of the local community, we are committed to deepening our understanding of the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) and creating a hotel that is friendly to everyone and the environment.

SDGs stands for "Sustainable Development Goals," an international set of goals adopted unanimously by member states at the UN Summit in September 2015, aiming for a sustainable and better world by 2030. It consists of 17 goals and 169 targets, pledging to "leave no one behind" on Earth.

At JR-West Hotels, approximately 2.5 million plastic amenities such as Toothbrush, Hairbrush, and razors are consumed annually, resulting in about 35 tons of waste.
Currently, our hotels are working to reduce plastic products in order to create a hotel that is friendly to everyone and the environment. We ask for your cooperation in reusing Toothbrush, hairbrushes, razors, and Shower cap during your stay.
In addition, we have switched to refillable dispenser bottles for in-room bathroom amenities. Going forward, we will continue to reduce plastic products, including switching to more environmentally friendly amenities.

During the off-season, we are taking measures to reduce CO2 emissions, such as suspending sales on entire floors of guest rooms.

We are promoting the replacement of toilets with water-saving models and the introduction of water-saving faucets.

安全な水とトイレを世界中に

We have adopted a policy of not changing Linen during consecutive stays as standard practice, thereby reducing the amount of detergent and heavy oil used in Linen washing, and conserving water resources. (Linen changes are only provided upon request.)

Reducing food waste through the "3010 Movement"
We will be introducing the "3010 Movement" to our guests enjoying banquets that include meals, in order to reduce food waste. (The "3010 Movement" is an initiative that encourages guests to enjoy their meals at their seats for the first 30 minutes and the last 10 minutes of a banquet to reduce food waste. It started in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture in 2011 and has spread to many other municipalities.)

We are participating in “TABETE,” a food-sharing service aimed at reducing food waste. TABETE is a service that allows users to “rescue” (purchase) meals that are still delicious and safe to eat but are difficult to sell at the store. By participating in this initiative, we are working to reduce food waste.
To use the service, you’ll need to download the “TABETE” app. Click here to download it (https://tabete.me)

At the cafe and buffet "Dish Parade," we participate in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries' National Movement to Reduce Food Loss (LOSSNON), primarily focusing on reducing food waste at our buffet.

Prioritizing the safety of our customers and employees, we have established and are adhering to new hygiene standards, "Clean & Safety."

Clean & Safety

To ensure the safety of our customers and employees, we conduct emergency first aid training once a year and disaster prevention and fire prevention training twice a year.

We have systems in place for childcare and elder care leave, as well as reduced working hours.
We are working to create an environment that is inclusive of foreign nationals, people with disabilities, and people of all genders.

ジェンダー平等を実現しよう

働きがいも経済成長も

We conduct human rights training and SDGs training for all employees.

質の高い教育をみんなに

We are running a program to collect and separate plastic bottle caps used by our employees. The collected caps are provided to a non-profit organization, where they are transformed into recycled products, and the proceeds from the sale of these products are used to support medical care in developing countries.

住み続けられるまちづくりを

As a company committed to coexisting with the local community, we are deepening our understanding of the SDGs and striving to create hotels that are friendly to everyone and the environment. Furthermore, to achieve the JR West Group's vision of a "safe and prosperous society where people meet and smiles are born," we hope to contribute to achieving the SDGs by realizing a West Japan area where everyone—including future generations—can continue to thrive.
