[Highlights of the 78th Shosoin Exhibition]
The 78th Shosoin Exhibition will feature 60 treasures (11 of which will be exhibited for the first time), including the "Shikkohei" (lacquered lacquered vase) listed in the "Kokka Chinpocho" (National Treasure Register), a list of gifts associated with Emperor Shomu; the "Hakururi no Hei" (white glass vase) made in the vicinity of Iran; the "Koge Bachiru no Kishi" (red ivory go stones); and the "Mitsuda Sai-e no Hako" (lacquered box with damask decoration) which contained gifts offered at the eye-opening ceremony of the Great Buddha.
