Announcement of Takeshi Miyazaki's appointment as "Chevalier" of the Champagne Order, November 25, 2016
In recognition of his contributions to the popularization of champagne, Tsuyoshi Miyazaki, Senior Sommelier at Nara Hotel, was awarded the title of Chevalier (Chef) by the Ordre des Coteaux de Champagne, a French organization, on November 24, 2016.
◆What is the Champagne Order?
Founded in 1656 by aristocrats known as court connoisseurs of Louis XIV, this is a historically prestigious organization. Titles are bestowed upon champagne lovers, gourmets, artists, journalists, and prominent figures in politics and business around the world who have contributed to its popularization. Currently, there are approximately 5,000 recipients worldwide, and over 100 in Japan.
