The "Former Daijo-in Temple Garden" a designated scenic spot adjacent to the south side of Nara Hotel, opened to the public on April 3, 2010.
The Daijoin Garden Cultural Center, a designated scenic spot, opened on April 1, 1996, and will celebrate its 20th anniversary at the end of March this year. In addition to being a facility where visitors can admire the scenic former Daijoin Garden, it is also a venue for cultural activities such as art exhibitions, tea ceremonies, and training sessions, attracting many visitors.
During that time, the Daijoin Garden was developed based on the findings of the excavations, and on April 1, 2010, it became possible to stroll through and admire the garden. Through the public opening of the garden and the various activities of the cultural center, the number of visitors has fluctuated but has not decreased, averaging 50,000 people per year.
The milestone of being our 1 millionth customer was achieved just after 11:00 AM on February 17th, and it was a woman and her partner from Kawanishi City. When we informed them that they were our 1 millionth customers, they were overjoyed and told us that it was a celebratory trip for their mother's birthday and their daughter's wedding, which truly touched our hearts.
The Director of Citizen Activities for Nara City and the President of Nara Hotel, the designated manager, presented commemorative gifts, and after a tour of the garden, the ceremony concluded successfully.
