Access: Approximately 15 minutes by taxi and on foot from the hotel.
Nigatsudo Temple is known for the Shuni-e Buddhist ceremony, which has continued uninterrupted for over 1260 years. From March 1st to 14th, large torches are lit to illuminate the path for the monks performing the ritual.
After dinner, we went for a stroll around Nigatsudo Temple at night.
Walking along the corridor illuminated by paper lanterns, the night view stretching all the way to Mount Ikoma in the distance is truly exceptional.

10:30 Stroll around Naramachi
Jurinin
A quiet location in the southeastern corner of the former grounds of Gangoji Temple.
It is located in Naramachi. In Mori Ogai's collection of poems, "Fifty Poems of Nara," there is a poem that goes, "The beloved Jūrin-in is the garden of an old man visited by blue birds and their chicks."
Gangōji Temple
Gangō-ji Temple originated from Asuka (Hōkō-ji Temple) and is one of the seven great temples of Nara. The oldest roof tiles in Japan are found on parts of the roofs of the Gokuraku-dō Hall and the Zen meditation hall. It was registered as a World Heritage Site in 1998.
