Notice Regarding COVID-19 Infection Among Hotel Granvia Kyoto Employees

It has come to our attention that one employee (full-time employee) working in the kitchen at Hotel Granvia Kyoto, a group hotel of JR-West Hotels, has tested positive for COVID-19.
Our hotel group had been thoroughly implementing measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19, including temperature checks before work, mask-wearing, handwashing, gargling, and alcohol disinfection of hands for all employees. However, this situation has occurred, and we sincerely apologize for the great inconvenience and concern caused to our hotel guests and all related parties.
In response to this incident, we have taken the following immediate action, prioritizing the safety and health of our guests and hotel staff.
 
1. Regarding the employee in question

3. The employee's symptoms and work performance, etc.
On August 20th (Thursday), I had a fever of 37.6℃ and underwent a PCR test on the same day. The results were available on August 21st (Friday).
The employee in question has been working from home since Thursday, August 20th, and has not been coming to the office.
There is currently no information indicating close contact with customers.
 
4. Our response
Disinfection work on the relevant areas has already been carried out.
Employees who had close contact with the employee in question have been placed on home quarantine from Thursday, August 20th until further notice.
As a measure to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the hotel has always required its employees to have their temperature checked daily, disinfect their hands with alcohol upon arrival at work, wear masks, and gargle.
We are implementing measures such as thorough handwashing and the installation of shields to prevent droplet infection, and we will continue these measures in the future.
