Umekoji Potel Kyoto

The "Umekoji Sento (Public Bath) Poteyu" private event, Sento (Public Bath) culture experience led by Kyoto's Sento (Public Bath) concierge, received the "Kyoto City Shining Regional Business Award" for contributions to future development.

Umekoji Potel KYOTO (General Manager: Misako Matsui), operated by JR West Holonic Co., Ltd. (Shimogyo-ku, Kyoto City / Representative Director: Ichiro Nagata), received the Future Creation Contribution Award in the Kyoto City Shining Regional Business Awards for its event "Kyoto Sento (Public Bath) Sento (Public Bath) Culture Experience by Kyoto Sento (Public Bath) Concierge," held on November 14, 2024, at "Umekoji Sento Poteyu."

In Shimogyo Ward, Kyoto City, where Potel is located, traditional Sento (Public Bath) are cherished as places of relaxation for the local community. At Potel, which was newly established in the Reiwa era, the hotel's bathhouse was intentionally transformed into a public Sento (Public Bath) called "Umekoji Sento (Public Bath) Poteyu" as a cultural experience for guests during their stay, providing a place where hotel guests and local residents can gather and experience Sento (Public Bath) culture. With the belief that "public Sento (Public Bath) are treasures of the community, and hotels should cherish them as well," we planned this event together with Mr. Nakagawa as part of the "Kyoto Local Business Support Project Participation Plan."
