Umekoji Potel Kyoto

Doshisha Women's University x Kyoka Foods x Umekoji Potel Kyoto: Developed by students in Doshisha Women's University's "Food Development Project," fully cooked frozen vegetables are now available at Potel's "Breakfast Buffet"! Students handled everything from creating POP displays to analyzing customer feedback surveys!

Doshisha Women's University (Location: Kyoto City and Kyotanabe City, Kyoto Prefecture; President: Kiyoshi Kawasaki) offers a third-year course in the Department of Food and Nutritional Science, Faculty of Life Sciences, called the "Food Development Project." In this course, students learn about food production, processing, and distribution, and work on developing new products that can be actually used in society. With guidance and support from Kyoka Foods Co., Ltd., a collaborating company on this project, the students thoroughly considered raw materials, manufacturing costs, taste, and appearance, and created two fully prepared menu items using frozen vegetables, which have been brought to market. Through trial and error, in order to add them to the "Breakfast that Makes Rice Tastier" lineup at Umekoji Potel KYOTO, operated by JR West Holonic Co., Ltd., they have created two side dishes that overturn the conventional image of frozen vegetables and will make you want seconds of rice.
