Our hotel's pastry chef, Misato Fujino, won the Pastry Queen Japan Preliminary Round 2024!
Hotel Granvia Osaka Co., Ltd. (3-1-1 Umeda, Kita-ku, Osaka; President: Masahiro Morimoto) is pleased to announce that its pastry chef, Misato Fujino, won the Japanese qualifying round of "The Pastry Queen," a world competition for female pastry chefs, held on April 12, 2024. Ms. Fujino will represent Japan at the world competition to be held in Rimini, Italy in January 2025.
About "The Pastry Queen"
The SIGEP (Sigep), the world's largest international exhibition for gelato, confectionery, and bread making, held in Rimini, Italy, is home to a biennial international competition showcasing the pastry-making skills of female pastry chefs. One representative from each country, having won their respective national qualifiers, takes part in the competition. Over two days, the competition evaluates various techniques in pastry making, including sugar pièces montées (confectionery art) that judge the appearance of the confection, and several types of cakes and desserts that judge the taste.
