(Vol. 5) Sommelier Naka's Carefully Selected "Wine for Home"
(2020/6/25) Enjoy Hotel Granvia Kyoto at home
Here are some recommended wines carefully selected by our sommelier, Naka.
This is a great choice for the upcoming hot season.
"Piesporter Michelsberg Riesling Auslese"
A sweet white wine from the Mosel region of Moselle.
This "cluster-selected wine" is made by removing unripe grapes during harvest, resulting in a refreshing, crisp acidity and a sweet taste bursting with freshness.
This is a wine I highly recommend for those who don't like the strong acidity or tannins of wine, or for those who don't like alcohol.
This is perfect as a snack!
If you can get your hands on some, I also recommend drizzling honey over a strong-flavored blue cheese or a white mold cheese like Camembert.
For meals, pizza and cream-based pasta are excellent choices.
"Kaiken Ultra Malbec"
Kaiken is a winery born from the masterful fusion of the knowledge and experience of Montes, a pioneering winery of premium Chilean wines, and the fertile soil of Argentina.
This wine uses Malbec grapes from old vines over 50 years old in the Uko Valley, a region famous for its high altitude.
Aged for a long period in French Oak barrels, this whisky has a rich body and provides the perfect satisfying finish to your meal.
This is perfect as a snack!
It also pairs well with rich-flavored dishes such as okonomiyaki and sukiyaki.
Also, it pairs wonderfully with cream cheese or sweet desserts.
